Description
Brighton Motorsports is pleased to present this nice driver-level 1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa coupe -- one of just 3,607 Targa's made that year. The Targa is a fun-to-drive Porsche that also offers the popular "open top" experience with the removable center roof section.
When we acquired the car in Arizona, it had been here for some time, and prior to that it was a California car, as noted on the title when we purchased it. It's on a clean Arizona title, and we believe its been in the dry Southwest its entire life. It would make a great general driver, especially for someone who wants to enjoy the car just as it is, or maybe take it to the next level.
This car looks great in its original factory Porsche Guards red over the black leather interior. The car is clean, and we have not found any rust on the chassis anywhere. Overall the car is in good condition for its age, but from about 5-feet and closer you can start to notice very minor imperfections in the paint, with the occasional chip or ding on the finish. It's also likely that the car may have been repainted at some point its history. All of the glass and trim is present and in good condition.
Mechanically the car is sound -- it's been serviced and it starts, runs and drives good. This car is also equipped with factory air conditioning, but it does need a new AC coil and service to get running again. The brakes are in good condtion and the car stops great. Overall mechanically it is good running order.
Included is the orginal space-saver spare tire, jack and tool set. The stereo system is a newer unit with AM/FM CD player with removable face-plate and remote control. If you're looking for a solid, rust-free driver-level Porsche 911 SC Targa, this is a great car. The "air cooled" early Porsche 911's are very popular and hold their value very well.
