Description
Brighton Motorsports is pleased to present this 1959 Costin Lister Alloy Jaguar re-creation. Renowned and respected Jaguar expert Terry Larson’s ownership of this car speaks volumes for its credibility. Its VIN is 7151539 and it is a stylized copy of the two Costin bodied Lister Jaguars built in 1959, one being raced by Sir Stirling Moss that year in Sebring.
The car was built by Tempero Coachworks in New Zealand about 1985 and was raced there in New Zealand for approximately ten to fifteen years in vintage races, sprints and hill climbs. Tempero Coachworks re-purchased the car around 2002 and refurbished it then. They repainted it to works colors added D-type wheels and hubs and replaced the engine and gearbox to a more standard specification before shipping it to the United States. This all aluminum car features Jaguar engine, Weber 45DCOE Carburetors, 6 into 2 headers, Coil-Over Suspension, IRS, Disk Brakes, Knock-Off Dunlop Wheels and Roll Bar.
This is the only Costin Lister Jaguar replica known to exist.
The car has been issued an SVRA logbook # 3458 here in the USA.
