Brighton Motorsports is very pleased to offer for sale this Allard K2 in Signal Red over Arizona Saddle leather with a Black Haartz top. It is #97 1977, of which 119 were built between 1950-1951, was ordered from the Allard factory by British Motor Car Company of San Francisco on January 10, 1951 and delivered on March 12, 1951.
It was ordered without an engine but was modified by the factory to accept a Cadillac 331 ci V8 powerplant. The engine currently develops approximately 180 bhp with 332 pounds of torque. The 1948 Ford running gear is attached to a steel box frame. The body is all aluminum except for the steel front fenders. The car features Lockheed cast iron drum brakes, a Ford-Zepher ’side loader’ transmission, the infamous Allard split-axle front end and Lucas electrics. The K2 weighs 2,689 pounds and the wheelbase is 8’10” on a 14’x5’11” body.
